Destiny reinforces its international ambitions by acquiring Dutch company DSD Business Internet

Brussels, 4 April 2019 – Destiny, the Belgian provider of cloud communications solutions for innovative enterprises,  has acquired the Dutch company DSD Business Internet. This is a next step towards internationalisation, following its acquisition of Dutch enterprise Motto Communications with its FLUX cloud distribution platform last year. With the acquisition of the business internet service provider DSD, Destiny is further expanding its position in the Dutch market.  The company now has its own network and will continue to offer its Dutch partners connectivity within FLUX via a high-quality in-house network, which provides greater technical control.

“We were actively seeking a connectivity player to link to the FLUX platform, so that we can be one contact for cloud communications solutions in the Dutch market,” explains Daan De Wever, Destiny's founder and CEO. “In addition, with this acquisition we want to serve our Dutch partners even better by having more control over the basic telecom services and offering them connectivity quickly, securely and in high quality via FLUX”. With this second Dutch acquisition, Destiny is once more taking a major step in its ambition to develop into a European independent virtual operator. “Linking a portal for cloud services with a reliable local operator as we are now doing in the Netherlands is a model that we also want to apply in other European countries in the future. The only thing we need to adapt is the go-to-market strategy, which will of course differ from country to country. At the same time, we want to strengthen our position in the Dutch market even further and expect to finalise even more acquisitions in the Netherlands later in the year,” De Wever concludes. Manolis Geldermans, Managing Director of DSD Business Internet, says: “With this acquisition, our customers will gain access to all the services that are available within Destiny’s cloud distribution platform.

We are very happy about this great addition to our existing portfolio. Our customers now also have a single contact for all their cloud telecom services”. Wim Aarts, Technical Director with DSD Business Internet, adds: “In addition, we can now also deliver services in Belgium to our Dutch customers with the service and quality they are accustomed to”. Manolis Geldermans and Wim Aarts will become board members of Destiny and be responsible in the Netherlands for delivering continuity within the group. With the acquisitions of Belgium Telecom last month and DSD Business Internet, Destiny is continuing to work on its local and European ambitions. The company now has more than 160 staff, more than 12,000 business customers and a revised predicted turnover of 50 million euros for 2019.
