Destiny strengthens position in Brussels and Wallonia with acquisition of Belgium Telecom

Brussels, 21 March 2019 – Destiny, the Belgian provider of cloud communications solutions for innovative enterprises, has acquired Belgium Telecom*.  After the earlier acquisition of Ergatel in 2016, Destiny is once again expanding its customer base in the Brussels and French-speaking parts of the country. The two companies have had a strategic partnership and excellent working relationship for the past six years.

Joachim Lauwers, Managing Director Belgium for Destiny: “In addition to an expansion of our customer base in Brussels and Wallonia, this acquisition brings on board 35 years’ experience in telephone systems and IT.  By joining forces, we are also strengthening the service offering of both parties and we can offer all Belgium Telecom customers a complete one-stop-shop solution in the cloud.  Furthermore, we are jointly in an even stronger position to be able to help steer the current acceleration in the market towards cloud communications solutions.  According to recent forecasts** telephony in the cloud will account for 30 per cent of the business market within five years, compared to five per cent today.” In 2019, alongside the strengthening of its local position, Destiny also has further internationalisation on the agenda.  It also expects to be able to announce the next step shortly.
